Professional short frame disc harrows BEDNAR SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI™

BEDNAR SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI is a new line of short compact disc harrows in the BEDNAR model range. The PROFI designation means the presence of a number of new technical solutions that provide additional benefits for users. SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI models are distinguished by high working speed, high-quality workmanship and excellent soil cultivation results.

Stubble cultivation is one of the most important technological operations, which, according to modern agrotechnical requirements, must be carried out as soon as possible after harvesting. For this work, SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI can be equipped with toothed or aggressive discs with a diameter of 520 × 5 or 560 × 5 mm. They ensure high-quality cutting of plant residues, effective mixing with the soil and uniform wrapping. The rear rollers compact and cover the treated soil layer, creating optimal conditions for uniform germination of weeds and carrion.

The SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI disc sections are arranged in an “X” pattern. This innovative technical solution eliminates the lateral displacement of the machine, known as drift. Thanks to this, the disc harrow follows the tractor’s track exactly. The central disc, in turn, minimizes the risk of ridges on the field surface.

The arrangement of the rear rollers in two rows provides greater stability of the machine when working at high speed compared to a single-row design. In addition, this solution eliminates the gap that can occur in compact disc harrows with two rollers arranged in one row. The integrated axle contributes to even weight distribution and prevents the machine from swaying. This also increases safety during transport and reduces the turning radius of the machine with the tractor on headlands.

When cultivating stubble or wrapping large amounts of crop residues, the machine can become clogged due to insufficient throughput. In such conditions, it may also be necessary to reduce the working speed to avoid waves on the field surface. The SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI compact disc harrows have a distance of 140 cm between the front and rear rows of discs and up to 160 cm between the discs and the rear axle of the roller. The frame capacity of up to 60 cm allows you to work effectively even with a large amount of organic residues or manure.

SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI can be equipped with a system of brackets that form additional working bodies behind the tractor wheels. They ensure effective loosening of compacted soil layers in the tracks. Using special spacers, the working depth of 4–8 discs can be increased by 2–4 cm compared to other discs in the front row.

The SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI compact disc harrow is equipped with hydraulic traction. This technical solution simplifies the aggregation of the machine with the tractor and, most importantly, improves the quality of work. Thanks to the hydraulic system, the disc harrow adapts better to uneven terrain and ensures uniform soil cultivation.

A front cutting roller is available for the SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI, which is excellent for crushing plant residues and strong stems. The crushed residues decompose faster and better in the soil, and the risk of the machine getting stuck is reduced during subsequent operations.

The compact SWIFTERDISC XO PROFI disc harrow can also be equipped with the BEDNAR ALFA SL seeder, which allows you to sow cover crops and small-seeded plants simultaneously with stubble cultivation in one pass. This approach provides significant time and fuel savings. The volume of the seeder hopper is 400 liters.
