CE Case presented conceptual loading machine

04/10/2019

At the exhibition having been held in Bauma in 2019 Case Construction Equipment Company represented its conceptual self-propelled loading machine consuming methane (“Tetra” Project) as well as its assumption on the future environmentally safe construction.
The Project having “Tetra” code name shows that the companies involved in the construction sphere can be leaders in the transition from vehicles consuming fossil fuel to the machines consuming fuel from renewable energy sources.
This Project demonstrates abilities of the environmentally efficient “closed cycle”: the wheeled loading machines consuming methane help to fabricate fuel to propel them from waste and renewable sources. This Project unites results of the Research and development program of other branch companies of CNH Industrial engaged in the sphere of methane use for off-road machinery as well as seven-year experience and Global testing program.
Case concept uses an engine manufactured by FTP Industrial consuming methane having been specially developed for the application in agriculture and providing maximum power equal to 230 hp. i.e. value similar to performance of equivalent diesel power unit. At that noise level at travelling decreases by 50 % which makes the loading machine ideal solution for municipal services and while performing operations nearby offices, dwelling areas and persons.
Moreover, enterprises engaged in waste processing can manufacture their own CO2-neutral fuel not only protecting themselves from the non-stability of oil prices but gaining profit due to significant lowering cost for the machinery operation equal to 10 to 30 % as compared with diesel fuel.
Conceptual wheeled loading machine with an engine consuming bio methane produces CO2 emissions amount of which is 95 % less, nitrogen dioxide amount of which is 90 % less and solid particles amount of which is 99 % less compared to diesel equivalent; this ensures reduction of total emissions by 80 %. At enterprises having no resources for the production of their own bio methane conceptual wheeled loading machine can be operated using conventional “pipeline” natural gas.
Conceptual wheeled loading machine consuming methane is capable of performing entire spectrum of tasks common for conventional self-propelled loading machines equipped with diesel engine. This conceptual loading machine demonstrates the highest efficiency in a wide spectrum of tasks from operation in open pits, waste processing facilities, agriculture and wood storage places to utility services demanding intensive transportation. Moreover, this loading machine is compatible with entire assortment of shovels and it was equipped with shovels having highly risen cutting edge and open pit type ones from Leonardi Benne in the course of initial type tests.
